Snooz Alarm
An alarm app that helps you achieve your ideal waking-up time by alerting you earlier each day. This iOS app was created by myself along with two other creatives as a passion project.

Overview
We know how challenging it is to adjust your mind and body to wake up at an early hour. The mission of Snooz is simple: to help users achieve their wake-up goal without the drastic adjustment. We created this app using an algorithm to wake users up incrementally earlier each day, making their wake-up goal much more achievable.

How can we create a fun onboarding experience?
For onboarding, we welcome first-time users to Snooz with a set of friendly instructions. The final onboarding screen prompts the user to set up their alarm. We applied a “breathing” effect to the logo to bring a relaxing impression.

What is the best way to keep the user engaged while creating an alarm?
To create an alarm that is unique to the end-user, we ask the user to set up their desired wake-up time, what time they wake up now, and how long they want to achieve this by. Once the user gets to the last screen, they are then prompted to save the alarm. The background color changes to show progress with this flow.

How do we show progress in a way that makes the user feel good?
For our progress flow, we wanted to gamify the alarm experience. We designed a progress bar that moves as the user advances towards their goal, and congratulatory screens that alert the user when they reach a milestone. We added this fun design element to encourage users to follow through with their plan.
Final Thoughts
Once we finished the first iteration of the product, we began beta testing Snooz and collecting user feedback using Apple’s TestFlight. Further changes were made to the app before officially shipping Snooz into the App Store. The biggest flaw of the app was learning that 3rd party alarms would not be able to override Apple’s silent mode restriction. Oh well, it was a good learning experience
